Through the provision of livestock, local women are able to earn a livelihood and share the economic burden of their male counterparts. They are also able to gain a higher social and economic status where they will have the right to take part in the process of decision making.

Why Livestock?

Livestock refers to cattle, buffalos, sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry. One small gift of an animal can create a number of opportunities for a family in need as the animal gift can be used as a source of food (milk and meat) and cash returns to buy food and other household items.
Our program focuses on providing marginalized and landless stockowners with live-animals that can then be used to generate cash to meet social obligations and farm needs.
A family will be provided a goat, which can be used to generate milk and provide supplementary income for the family. The milk can be sold and in addition to that, money previously spent on purchasing milk can be used towards other expenses.
Families are additionally provided training on rearing practices and other technical skills related to utilizing and managing the livestock. 

Kalsoom Bibi and Ansar Bibi are each recipients of pregnant goats. Within 15 days of the distribution, the goats birthed an offspring. When asked what impact these goats have on the livelihood of their families, they responded: “Our children are able to drink milk twice a day and will stay healthy. It is a sigh of relief for our family to know that we can start over a new life now.”
