Since 2017, more than 900,000 Rohingya people have fled violence in Myanmar, seeking refuge in Bangladesh. Today, they remain in overcrowded camps in Cox’s Bazar, with a smaller group relocated to the remote island of Bhasan Char. Basic needs like food and clean water and sanitation are dangerously inadequate, leaving families—especially children—at risk.
Right now, more than half of the Rohingya refugees are children, many suffering from preventable but life-threatening health issues:
For over 35 years, BRAC has been providing critical services to vulnerable communities in Cox’s Bazar. As the largest local nonprofit responding to the Rohingya humanitarian crisis, BRAC takes a needs-based, holistic approach across 26 refugee camps–offering food security, clean water, shelter, healthcare, hygiene, sanitation, disaster recovery, skills development, education, mental health support, and social protection.
We must act now to provide clean water and safe sanitation. Your support can make an immediate difference:
👨🌾 $4,200 could install a rainwater harvesting system for a community
💧 $2,000 could install a deep tube well or three latrines
🚰 $850 could build a water distribution and operation point, ensuring access to safe water
🚛 $500 could purchase a solid waste collection van for the community
🖐 $100 could install two handwashing stations
🚽 $50 could repair and maintain three latrines
🔧 $20 could repair and maintain a tube well
Join us in our mission to provide life-saving water and sanitation support for the Rohingya refugees in Bhasan Char.
How your donation will make an impact:
Every dollar helps prevent disease, protect children, and restore dignity to families in crisis.

Please give to help our brothers and sisters in need
As we are in the last few nights of Ramadan, may all our fasts and good deeds be accepted.
Now, with the recent global aid cuts and US funding freeze, we are facing unprecedented need, and your support matters now more than ever. Don't know if you saw this already but: the United Nations to halve food rations for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
The head of the U.N. refugee agency Filippo Grandi said on a post on X during a visit to Cox's Bazar that if donor support to the camps "decreases dramatically - which may happen - the huge work done by the Bangladesh government, aid agencies and refugees will be impacted, putting thousands at risk of hunger, disease and insecurity." However, BRAC is committed to stepping up to fill the gaps left as best we can.
With these latest developments and it being the last few nights of Ramadan, please give to help our brothers and sisters in need.
