• In January 2022 alone, we received 90 applications

Did you know that couples who are experiencing financial strain are 3.5x more likely to be involved in domestic violence?

In times of financial difficulties, single mothers and women living in abuse are the first to suffer. They fear falling into poverty if they were to leave. Even accessing supports like transportation, counselling or housing is unaffordable.

Nisa Homes is the first national group of second stage shelters for Muslim women and children in Canada.

With 8 homes across Canada, we aim to ensure women and children have a safe place to turn to if they are experiencing domestic violence, homelessness or forced resettlement.

Through the services we provide, the 3 month length of stay, and the supports to find employment, education and housing, 85% of our clients have succeeded in becoming self-sufficient and independent.
