RAMADAN APPEAL 2021

Ramadan is a sacred month of the Islamic lunar calendar, at this time of the year millions of Muslims from across the globe come together to pray, give charity, fast & celebrate the breaking of the fast with their family & friends.

However for those already suffering from extreme poverty, crisis, conflict and displacement, gaining access to a regular meal for their suhoor and iftar can be extremely challenging. An estimated 1 in 9 people will not have enough food for their fast this Ramadan, many will proceed to fast on an empty stomach in the hope of a miracle.

This Ramadan you can help the Muslim Relief Team provide nutritious meals as well as life saving food packs to both Syrian and Rohingya refugees as well to those suffering in Yemen, Palestine, and Pakistan.

By donating to our cause you are ensuring that many families, orphans, widows & children do not go hungry for Suhoor & Iftar. Together we can make a huge impact, bring hope, happiness and sustenance to those in urgent need.

The Muslim Relief Ramadan fund is eligible for General Charitable Donations, Zakat, Sadaqah, Fidya, & Kaffarah.

COVID-19 EMERGENCY

The coronavirus pandemic presents an additional danger to the lives of those who are already suffering from extreme poverty, crisis, and instability across the globe.

This Ramadan we can help provide hope and sustenance to those in dire in many different parts of the world.

ZAKAT

Since our launch in 2004, your zakat contributions have helped bring humanitarian aid to some of the world's most vulnerable communities.

From East Africa, to parts of the Middle East & Asia, your Zakat has helped save lives.

By donating your zakat through Muslim Relief you can rest assured that your donation will reach those who need it the most both in Ramadan and beyond. it is our duty to ensure that your Zakat is distributed in accordance with the Islamic principles to the eligible beneficiaries.

SADAQAH

This Ramadan your Sadaqah can help us feed those in urgent need.

FIDYA

Fidya is payable in situations whereby a person is ill or suffering from long term illness/illnesses. The person may also be pregnant or of old age & as a result unable to fast in Ramadan, or make up missed fasts at a later stage. The Fidya amount is £5.00 per each fast missed in the month of Ramadan.

The Fidya amount to cover the full month of Ramadan would amount to £150.00.

KAFFARAH

Kaffarah should be given if a fast is deliberately broken or missed in the month of Ramadan without a valid reason. Although such actions should be avoided this can sometimes happen. In such cases one must fast for 60 days continuously or provide food to 60 poor persons to make up for the fast.

For each missed or broken fast the kaffarah would amount to £300.00

ZAKAT-AL-FITR

Also referred to as Fitrana is a compulsory charity paid by every Muslim at the end of the blessed month of Ramadan.

Fitrana is paid by Muslims to ensure that the less fortunate are also able celebrate the end of Ramadan.

It is important that the funds must reach the poor in good time for Eid.

In current monetary terms Zakat-Ul-Fitr equates to around £5.00 per person.
